Looking Ahead

Incorporated in 1998, as a joint venture between the Engineering and Maintenance Division of EVA Air, Taiwan's first and only privately managed international carrier, and General Electric, a global business powerhouse, EGAT can boast an intimate knowledge of airline operational needs with the technical expertise of a global aviation-engineering leader. The result is an organization highly competent in formulating – and masterfully serving up – customized maintenance solutions for EVA Air as well as airline customers worldwide.

EGAT's maintenance-competency success can easily be measured by the established flight safety record of EVA Air, as well as those of its existing customers, bolstered by the corporate ethos of "Safety first; Quality is Everything." This well-established flight-safety record is is only matched by a handful of carriers worldwide. EGAT and its 1,500 employees take personal and corporate pride in fulfilling the requirements of regulatory bodies, as well as robust corporate systems and processes that exceed basic regulatory stipulations.

With all of its facilities located within the perimeter of the Taoyuan International Airport in Taiwan, the movement of aircraft parts is prompt and efficient. EGAT's processes and supporting equipment ensure seamless care and delivery of a client's aircraft.

EGAT's facilities include Hangars 1, 2 and 3, two engine shops and a test call that occupy 34,000 cubic meters of space. The hangars can accommodate five wide-body and three narrow-body aircraft simultaneously. Its power-plant shop occupies 10,500 square meters of floor space, supporting the engine shops for assembly, disassembly and testing of aircraft engines, and a 120,000-pound-rated test cell.
