Water Resource Management

All EGAT sites withdraw water from Shimen Reservoir, with tap water used for domestic use, on-site process water, cooling tower circulation, and other purposes. To improve water efficiency, the Company has installed rainwater recycling equipment at the maintenance and manufacturing plants. Recovered water is used for cooling towers, floor washing and sweeping, and other non-contact uses, implementing water resource circulation and reuse. In 2025, total rainwater recovery reached 1,432 metric tons. EGAT will continue to strengthen water resource utilization strategies, optimize water-saving technologies, and reduce dependence on natural water sources.

Total water withdrawal in 2025 was 242.25 million liters, an increase of 4.51% from the previous year. Although total withdrawal increased as operations expanded, water intensity was 0.013, continuing a downward trend compared with previous years. To improve water efficiency more effectively, implement water resource management, and demonstrate concrete results, EGAT continued reviewing operational water use in 2025 and further established short-, medium-, and long-term water intensity targets as the basis for strengthening water management. For discharge, plant effluent is collected in accordance with local regulations. Maintenance plant wastewater is discharged through an independent outfall into Puxin Creek or collected and treated at the airport wastewater treatment plant before discharge. Manufacturing plant wastewater is collected through industrial park sewage pipelines and discharged after treatment at the wastewater treatment plant.
