Energy and Greenhouse Gas Management
Because EGAT changed the organizational boundary for the 2025 inventory, in addition to Songshan Airport already included in previous inventories, certain activities classified as off-site covered areas were newly included, and the Guanyin Plant and Dayuan Plant were consolidated. Therefore, 2025 was set as the new inventory base year. The Company's GHG emissions mainly come from Scope 2 (purchased electricity), as EGAT's business involves aircraft maintenance and component manufacturing and does not involve significant fossil fuel use or biomass fuel use. According to the 2025 inventory results, EGAT's total GHG emissions and emission intensity showed a downward trend, reflecting the effectiveness of GHG management and the results of operational efficiency, energy and resource utilization, and carbon reduction strategies. Beginning in 2025, the Company conducted Scope 3 inventories for Category 3 (upstream fuel- and energy-related activities), Category 13 (downstream leased assets), and Category 15 (investments). EGAT will continue promoting GHG inventories and reduction measures, working with supply chain partners toward a shared vision of sustainable development.

In 2025, EGAT's total energy consumption was 157,316.59 gigajoules (GJ). Energy use included purchased electricity, natural gas, gasoline, diesel, and solar power, with purchased electricity accounting for the largest share at 62.82% of total energy consumption. Purchased electricity is mainly used for plant lighting, assembly production, maintenance, air conditioning systems, and other equipment. Despite continued business growth and an expanded inventory scope, energy intensity decreased from 9.25 GJ/NT$ million in 2024 to 8.65 GJ/NT$ million in 2025, showing improved energy efficiency. In addition, EGAT introduced renewable energy self-generation and self-consumption in 2024, and renewable energy consumption reached 5,893.53 GJ in 2025, accounting for 3.75% of total energy consumption. EGAT will continue promoting equipment energy-saving improvements and replacement measures at all operating sites and increase renewable energy usage.

In 2025, EGAT continued promoting multiple carbon reduction measures, including replacing high-efficiency chillers, adding an air compressor waste heat recovery system, and optimizing equipment to further improve energy efficiency. Annual carbon reduction actions also extended to daily electricity use in offices (non-field operation areas), with elevator energy recovery used to supply recovered electricity to offices and comprehensively reduce energy consumption.
Total energy savings in 2025 reached 3,779.34 GJ. Chiller replacement delivered the most significant energy-saving benefit, accounting for 63.42% of total energy savings, equivalent to a reduction of 315.59 tCO2e. In addition, a solar photovoltaic system was installed on the roof of No. 2 Hangar at the Maintenance Plant in 2025 and operated for renewable energy self-generation and self-consumption. Its annual power generation reached 4,094.90 GJ, equivalent to a reduction of 539.16 tCO2e.
To promote carbon reduction measures, EGAT referenced the Ministry of Environment's Regulations Governing Carbon Fee Collection and adopted an internal carbon price of NT$300 per metric ton as the basis for evaluating the short-term impact of government carbon fees. The Company also uses the benefits of carbon reduction investments to accelerate its pathway toward net-zero carbon reduction. In the future, EGAT will regularly review the energy efficiency of existing equipment and gradually replace and improve it, while also promoting vehicle electrification. Starting in 2026, EGAT plans to introduce electric vehicles for some operational and service vehicles, together with supporting measures, to continuously improve overall operating energy efficiency.

Responding to Airport Carbon Reduction Initiatives
In 2025, EGAT responded to Taoyuan International Airport's carbon reduction initiative by signing the Letter of Intent for the Taoyuan International Airport 2026-2028 Cooperative Carbon Reduction Plan. EGAT committed to working with Taoyuan International Airport and partners to promote related carbon reduction actions according to the plan's goals and work plan, jointly responding to international carbon reduction initiatives and moving toward the vision of net-zero emissions.
Air Compressor Waste Heat Recovery System Project
EGAT continues to promote process energy savings and improved energy efficiency. At the Manufacturing Plant, the Company newly introduced the air compressor waste heat recovery system project, which recovers waste heat generated by air compressor operation through heat exchange as a usable heat source. The recovered heat is stored in the hot water system and supplied for plant and bathroom water use, boiler feedwater preheating, and process hot water tank temperature maintenance, improving heat reuse efficiency, reducing energy consumption, and strengthening overall energy and environmental management benefits.
Elevator energy recovery
In 2025, EGAT newly introduced elevator energy recovery measures to recover additional mechanical energy generated during operation. During regenerative power periods, the electricity is consumed in real time within the elevator system, improving utilization efficiency of recovered electricity.
To ensure stable operation of the regenerative system and facilitate management tracking, the Company also installed power regeneration modules and monitoring equipment to monitor voltage status and cumulative energy savings in real time as records of recovery performance. This measure is expected to reduce the power load required for elevator operation, further reduce purchased electricity consumption, indirectly lower operation-related GHG emissions, and continuously improve site energy-saving and carbon reduction results.
Renewable Energy Development
Since 2022, EGAT has planned solar photovoltaic systems in phases to enhance the reuse value of plant rooftop space and achieve corporate green energy sustainability goals. In 2022, a total of 696.96 kW was completed on the roof of the new engine plant and the fourth-floor roof of the Manufacturing Plant. In 2023, a 499.29 kW solar photovoltaic system was completed on the roof of No. 4 aircraft maintenance hangar and connected to the grid.
To further strengthen carbon reduction benefits, EGAT adjusted its solar development strategy in 2024 toward self-generation and self-consumption, installing a 499.29 kW solar photovoltaic system on the third-floor roof of the Manufacturing Plant. In 2025, an additional 1,204.91 kW of solar photovoltaic capacity was installed on the roof of No. 2 Hangar, enabling renewable energy to directly supply site electricity demand. Total green electricity certificates obtained from solar power generation that year reached 1,636,720.00 kWh, and the renewable energy self-consumption ratio reached 53.34%.
EGAT will continue expanding renewable energy applications, aiming to convert 100% of existing renewable energy equipment to self-generation and self-consumption by 2030. To achieve this target, EGAT plans to convert the rooftop solar photovoltaic system on No. 4 Hangar to self-generation and self-consumption in 2026, increasing its own green electricity use and further promoting operational carbon reduction toward sustainability development goals.
