Circular Economy and Waste Management

To implement circular economy principles and reduce the environmental impact of waste, EGAT properly recycles metal scrap generated during processes, sells it to domestic and international recyclers, and has it smelted and remade into other products to improve resource reuse benefits. For site management, the Company handles waste in compliance with regulations, promotes environmental protection in daily operations, and encourages employees to participate in resource recycling and waste reduction measures. Going forward, EGAT will continue to reduce waste emissions at the source and improve the environmental benefits of overall operations through process optimization, technology enhancement, and continued promotion of material reuse.

To more comprehensively understand waste generation from operating activities, EGAT conducts in-depth inventories from upstream value chain activities through its own operations to downstream value chain activities. Waste treatment volumes are calculated based on outsourced removal weighing records, and effective management mechanisms are established and implemented. At the upstream supplier stage, major waste consists of packaging waste such as outer cartons and protective films. During EGAT's own operations, waste includes hazardous and general waste from aircraft maintenance and aerospace component manufacturing, such as waste solvents, coating and cleaning-agent waste liquids containing heavy metals, lithium batteries, and metal scrap. By establishing waste management processes and response measures, the Company ensures that all types of waste are properly classified, recycled, and treated to reduce environmental impacts.

Recycling of Metal Scrap and Metal Waste

2025 Results

  • The manufacturing plant recycles various metal scrap materials, including aluminum, nickel, titanium, steel, and other alloys. These materials are sold to recyclers, exported to metal raw material plants, smelted, and returned to the metal raw material market, creating a circular economy market. In 2025, a total of 84.87 metric tons of scrap metal were recycled, generating NT$7.80 million in revenue benefits for EGAT.
  • The maintenance plant sends various processed metals and other waste materials to recyclers. In 2025, a total of 8.35 metric tons of processed metals and other waste were recycled.
