Occupational Safety and Health
EGAT upholds the policy of Safety First and Quality Foremost and is committed to providing all employees with a safe and healthy workplace to reduce the negative impacts of occupational safety and health incidents. EGAT has established an Occupational Safety and Health Management Manual covering labor safety and health management and responsibility assignment, equipment maintenance and inspection, work safety and health standards, education and training, health guidance and management, first aid and rescue, and preparation, maintenance, and use of protective facilities. The Company has also established an Occupational Safety and Health Committee in accordance with occupational safety and health regulations. The Chairman serves as committee chair, and members include 3 employer representatives, 15 labor representatives, and 10 duty participants such as Occupational Safety Office personnel, supervisors, and physicians. Meetings are held monthly to discuss occupational accident statistics, zero-accident accumulated million-hour statistics, safety audit improvements, safety and health topics, health management information, regulatory updates and compliance communication, and occupational safety and health education and training. Decisions are implemented after being made in the meeting.
Occupational Safety and Health Management
Occupational Safety Management System
EGAT passed Taiwan ISO 45001 occupational safety and health management system verification in 2022, faithfully complies with occupational safety and health regulations, and fulfills related responsibilities and obligations. For newly introduced projects or processes, EGAT evaluates operational risks according to ISO 45001 procedures and records them in change control forms for reference. In addition to continuously improving the work environment, conducting workplace environmental monitoring and automatic inspections of hazardous mechanical equipment, and implementing employee occupational safety and health education, training, and certification to eliminate workplace hazards, reduce near misses, and prevent occupational accidents, EGAT actively promotes employee physical and mental health activities toward the goal of a healthy and safe workplace. EGAT's occupational safety and health management system covers all workplaces, including Taoyuan, Guanyin, and Songshan maintenance units, with a total of 3,526 employees and workers. This includes 3,257 employees and 269 workers such as security guards, construction contractors, and dispatched maintenance/manufacturing personnel.
Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Accident Investigation
To ensure effective operation of occupational safety-related hazard identification and risk assessment, EGAT manages these processes according to the Safety and Health Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment Management Procedures. The management process includes:
- Responsible personnel in each relevant department analyze potential dangers and hazards in operations according to their duties, record them in the Safety and Health Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Form, and describe operating conditions, frequency, environment, and related matters.
- Each unit conducts safety and health risk assessments according to the Safety and Health Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Form. The assessment considers severity and likelihood of hazardous events. Severity factors include potentially injured or affected body parts, number of injured persons, and degree of injury. Likelihood factors include effectiveness of existing protective facilities and the function and usage status of personal protective equipment. EGAT conducts hazard risk identification assessments regularly each year, while departments conduct risk assessments irregularly as needed.
- After considering severity and likelihood of hazardous events, a risk matrix is produced. Identified risks are classified into five control levels, and corresponding response measures are taken according to risk level:
- For risks identified by each department that require control, risk control planning is implemented according to the Safety and Health Hazard Identification Risk Assessment Form. After department supervisor review, the form is submitted to the Occupational Safety Office for consolidation, and the submitting department implements the planned content.

Occupational Safety and Health Participation, Consultation, and Communication
If supervisors, employees, external personnel, or related organizations have matters to communicate or consult on regarding the formulation, implementation, or evaluation of the occupational safety and health management system, the Occupational Safety and Health Office consolidates them and notifies relevant departments to respond. Meetings may be held when necessary. The Occupational Safety and Health Office also communicates policies, goals, targets, management plans, and related legal requirements through education and training, meetings, posters, or company website announcements so that all employees and external stakeholders understand them. Internal and external communication information is summarized monthly to ensure EGAT's occupational safety management system can be adjusted promptly in response to internal and external environmental changes.
Occupational Safety and Health Education Training
In addition to establishing a comprehensive occupational safety management system, EGAT provides complete occupational safety and health education and training to ensure management process quality and internalize employee safety awareness. Training targets include employees and workers to prevent potential impacts from occupational safety risks. In 2025, 113 occupational safety-related education and training sessions were held, with 2,284 total attendances.

Promoting Employee Health
EGAT is committed to promoting a work environment of Safety First and Health Priority, building a sustainable and healthy workplace, implementing worker health protection, and providing health checkups exceeding regulatory requirements, full-time physician services, and other services. EGAT strives to promote health and become a healthy, safe, and happy workplace.
Non-Occupational Medical Services
- Health Follow-Up Examinations：In addition to statutory labor safety health examination items, EGAT provides items exceeding regulatory requirements, including blood lipid tests, cardiovascular examinations, liver and kidney function tests, rheumatoid arthritis examinations, and cancer screenings. In 2025, a total of 998 people participated in health examinations, with subsidies of NT$1,997,215.
- Full-Time On-Site Physician and Partner Clinics：EGAT provides full-time on-site physician services at the Maintenance Plant, performing return-to-work and job fitness assessments for injured or ill employees, work-related injury and illness prevention, and health consultation, and providing prescriptions, functional assessments, job redesign, or adjustment recommendations as needed. Subsidies in 2025 were NT$66,743.
- Influenza Vaccines：Influenza vaccination is provided every year. In 2025, a total of 270 people received vaccinations, with subsidies of NT$111,510.
- Routine Medical Supplies in First-Aid Kits：EGAT provides sterile disinfecting cotton swabs, gauze, saline, povidone-iodine pads, burn ointment, triangular bandages, and other supplies for injured or ill employees to use for dressing changes, wound wrapping, and immobilization. Total subsidies in 2025 were NT$92,743.

In 2025, the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team held the 26th six-day ultramarathon in France. To encourage employees to participate in sports events, EGAT provided subsidies of NT$26,538. An employee from EGAT's Quality Assurance Department achieved 16th overall in the marathon, 14th among men, and 3rd in the age-50 group.
In addition to subsidizing employee participation in international events, EGAT encouraged employees to build good exercise habits, improve physical and mental health, and challenge personal limits by providing e-vouchers and gift cards to employees participating in the 2025 EVA Air City Sightseeing Marathon. A total of 72 people participated, with rewards of NT$50,900.
In 2025, EGAT won the Health Group championship in the Evergreen Cup Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament and took second place in the Airport Cup Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament. A total of 50 people participated in the two competitions, with support totaling NT$119,307. Slow-pitch softball not only promotes employee exercise and fitness, but also provides opportunities for slow-pitch softball enthusiasts across group companies to maintain friendships and exchange skills.
To encourage employees to relieve stress and enhance camaraderie through leisure activities outside work, EGAT held the EGAT Cup Basketball Tournament and provided celebration bonuses to participating teams to encourage enthusiastic participation. In 2025, a total of 130 people participated, with subsidies and bonuses reaching NT$314,860.
